My Garden

As many of you know, I love to garden. I dutifully do my vegetable gardening to get fresh healthy produce, but my real passion is flower gardening. Here is a page dedicated to that. Starting from the crocuses, prim roses, forget me nots, tulips, and daffodils in the spring and then heading in to the irises, roses, lavender, annuals, nasturtiums, foxgloves, delphiniums,  and ending with the sunflowers, brown eyed susans, dahlias, sweet peas, morning glories, hollyhock, dahlias, zinnias  and the array of late summer bloomers. I love old heirloom flowers and roses and many of mine have been planted from old heirloom seeds that have been passed down for generations. I plan it so that there is always something blooming at any given tim in the season. I love the cluttered english style of gardening. These were all taken in my garden and the close ups are mostly of English Roses which are another passion of mine.

In another life I would have loved to be a flower photographer, but since Im still in this one I can only dream and hope that maybe you will enjoy the flowers as much as me. This is a story of a year in a garden told in pictures .

This year we had several chickens hatch out their own chicks. I loved them. And then the fox got into the hen house. And thats all I will say about that. :(

Love how the chicken sits there and you would never know theres a pile of chicks under her. They sometimes peek out through her wings to see whats going on. She can even carry them around tucked up under her wings.
