There has been so much hype in the last years though about antiperspirants in general and how bad they are for you. They usually have aluminum in them and loads of other ingredients I don't really understand. Im not sure if I buy into it all (I don't get to worked up about all that) but what I don't like is the barrier they provide for your pores. One thing I do KNOW is that we need to sweat to release toxins from our body. And the antiperspirants that we are all used to, actually keep us from sweating and releasing those toxins. So I wanted to sell a deodorant that would allow us to sweat but use odor fighting enzymes and powder that would mask the smell and make ya feel drier. If you are used to antiperspirants, this will take an adjustment because you will start sweating again. We are used to not sweating at all due to the barrier, but just remember how much better it is for your body!
There is a TON of information out there to support the theory that aluminum , parabens, sulfates and the many many chemicals in deodorant and other products we put on our bodies, have cause a significant increase in breast cancer particularly. Couple that with our bodies inability to release toxins through sweat and I decided to play it safe rather than sorry. However, I do not want to stink. And my husband does not want me to stink. In fact its one of the things he really likes about me, that I always "smell nice" as he puts it. And hey, after 13 years of marriage, I take what I can get in the compliment department. ;)
So anyway heres the latest product we've been working on. These are the small test sample tubes. This deodorant is made with mostly aloe leaf juice from real aloe plants which is so incredibly good for your skin. It is soothing, cooling, refreshing and actually healing for your skin. Then theres some tapioca starch for drying properties and than all natural odor fighting enzymes, including the same ones found in kefir , added. I tested it in on the EWG site for toxicity and it passed with flying colors!! This first batch is scented with lavender and herbs, but once we take off there will be lots more scents, including some with only essential oils and some for the men.
