AS far back as I can remember, I have not only enjoyed reading books but I have enjoyed poetry. (I bet I just lost 90% of my readers right there) I have a journal that I started back in high school that is full of my favorite poems and sayings. I know most of you are probably bored stiff by poems but I have decided to occasionally share a few of my favorites. Poetry is so beautiful and can take you anywhere you can imagine. These are all taken out of my journal. Ive had so much fun going back and reading it!
Lets start with one of my very favorite poems by Norman Maclean. His book was also very good and was eventually made into a movie with none other than Brad Pitt in it. A powerful poem with powerful words. Read it and go way way beneath the surface to understand all that this poem is saying. Its beyond beautiful.
"Eventually all things merge into one and river runs through it. The river was cut by the worlds great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are the timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters."
Norman MacLean
Another one thats along the same veins and by a very different author:
"Sometimes if you stand on the bottom railing of a bridge and watch the river slowly slipping away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to know."
Winnie The Pooh
